How are the children? Later this month, United Way of Greater Atlanta will begin sharing new insights from our updated Child Well-Being Index data to answer that question.   Since launching the Index in 2017, we’ve helped Greater Atlanta weather the COVID-19 pandemic—which further exposed disparities between communities with the greatest access to opportunity and those with inequitable barriers to reaching their full potential. While pandemic relief helped many communities weather the storm, the latest data shows that more than a third of our neighborhoods continue to lack the resources and support that kids need to thrive.    In 79 of these neighborhoods, child well-being is declining, preventing us from seeing the full promise of the 77,000 children who live there.
