❗️Porsche’s Taycan just took back the EV Nürburgring crown with a brutal 6:55.533 lap, officially making it the fastest electric car ever around the Nordschleife. The lap was driven by Lars Kern and beat the Yangwang U9 Xtreme by more than three and a half seconds, which is a massive gap at that level. What makes this run even more impressive is that Porsche didn’t just rely on power. The new Manthey Kit transforms the Taycan with aggressive aero, track-focused suspension tuning, and sticky Pirelli Trofeo RS tires, generating around 740 kg of downforce at speed which is insane for a four-door sedan. Power still plays a role though. The Taycan Turbo GT pushes up to 978 horsepower in Attack Mode, with increased discharge current and 1,270 Nm of torque under Launch Control, allowing it to carry significantly more speed through key sections of the track compared to its previous record run.
