Behind the pretty pictures of a luxurious powder room , a richly toned home office and a light and airy entrance corridor were months of planning. When we first visited the property with our client as she was in the process of purchasing the property, one of the first things that struck me was the opportunity the entrance area of the house offered. At the time it was a strange unloved open plan area where there was no proper place for anything. So, personal belongings were neatly piled in multiple places, but the space had no actual function. The difficulty was the wedge shape of the house. Which made conventional layout’s unworkable. Our first design idea was to add a gentle curve to one wall that would lead you from the front door through to the back of the house with views all the way through to the garden.
