I went to the Mansion on O street in Washington D.C. and saw this World Heavyweight Championship belt held by Jack Johnson. Jack Johnson was born in Texas and was nicknamed the Galveston Giant. He went on to become the world’s first African American heavyweight boxing champion and was one of the best boxers of all time. There are a couple of movies made about him, and he was a truly inspirational icon. The Mansion on O Street is a super unique experience. It’s a museum, hotel, escape room, bar, store, restaurant, and so much more all mixed into one. It is one of my favorite hotspots and has many interesting artifacts and pieces of history such as this.
