Russia claims it has successfully tested its new Satan-2 intercontinental ballistic missile and will deploy it at the end of this year, President Vladimir Putin said. Satan-2, also known as Sarmat, is a 208-ton, silo-launched 'apocalypse' rocket the size of a 14-storey building capable of reaching 15,880mph. The planned deployment of the missile, designed to deliver nuclear warheads to strike targets thousands of miles away in the United States or Europe, follows years of setbacks and delays. 'It has the ability to penetrate all existing and future anti-missile defence systems,' Putin said.
