Henderson wasn’t always the City we know today—it started as a desert boomtown! 🌵 #HistoricPreservationMonth Henderson was actually "born in America's defense" ten years before its incorporation during World War II, with the building of the Basic Magnesium Plant. Water Street got its name from the pipeline that powered the World War II–era magnesium plant. Built in 1942 as the Basic Townsite to house thousands of workers, the community was renamed Henderson in 1944 and officially incorporated in 1953. From a small tent city to a thriving community, Henderson’s history is a story of growth, grit, and Nevada spirit. ✨
