Music heals
🎬: The Music Never Stopped
The Music Never Stopped (2011) is a drama about a father (J.K. Simmons) who reconnects with his estranged son (Lou Taylor Pucci) after the son suffers a brain tumor that causes anterograde amnesia, making him unable to form new memories. A music therapist (Julia Ormond) discovers that music from the 1960s, which the son loved, can help him access his past, leading the father to embrace his son's generation and their music (like the Grateful De*d and Bob Dylan) to bridge the gap between them. The film is based on a true story from an essay by Oliver Sacks and explores themes of generational divides, memory, and the power of music.
