Happy Tuesday! Have you ever wanted to see an air tanker in action up close? Well, one CHP officer unexpectedly got that opportunity. The CHP motor officer in Templeton, California, was stopped on the side of the road over the weekend when he was surprised by a Cal Fire air tanker. The plane appeared without notice, flying over a nearby ridge, just as it released its load of red fire retardant. The officer and his bike were in the line of fire, and both received a bath. CHP Templeton said, "Even after the surprise makeover, he’s still smiling and still on the job — because wildfire response is unpredictable, messy, and occasionally stylish."
