Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux is hosting a ceremony to add Detective Randy Hoppert’s name to the Peace Officer Memorial on Wednesday, may 6, 2026.
The ceremony takes place at the Peace Officer Memorial monument on the northwest corner of Burrel Avenue and Woodland Street.
"This year, we honor the memory of 30 peace officers whose names are forever engraved on the granite monument as a tribute to their service and sacrifice," said Boudreaux. "We will also be adding another name to the wall, TCSO Detective Randy Hoppert, who made the ultimate sacrifice during a shootout in porterville on April 9."
The ceremony will include musical performances by the Redwood High School Chamber Choir and Tara Bosma alongside the Tulare Community Church Worship Band. There will be a flyover by the Tulare, Kings, and Fresno Counties Sheriffs’ Aviation Unit, as well as bagpipe honors performed by Bakersfield Police and Fire Pipes and Drums.
