I can hardly believe I’m saying it’s my 9th Mother’s Day. This child coming into my life has changed me to my core. I truly don’t remember life before him. He reminds me what it means to hope, to show up, to keep trying. Life wasn’t always easy, and hell, it never fully will be, but James makes it all worth it. A life with him- filled with love, travel, insane laughter, and our favorite diner. I really don’t know if it gets better than this. He mentioned the other day on the walk to school that his sister was going to be very mischievous, and to promise him that I’d believe him when she blamed things on him. I laughed and promised, trying to even picture a world where it’s not just us two. Deep down, I know it’s coming, and life will change once again, but in this moment I am thankful, beyond words, for the many years it was me and him. I was meant for this, born to do it really, being his mother. I’m out of words. 🩷
