Marissa Bode is an American actress and disability advocate who made history as the first wheelchair user to play Nessarose Thropp in the film adaptations of Wicked.
Ali Stroker made history as the first actor who uses a wheelchair to appear on Broadway (2015, Spring Awakening) and the first to win a Tony Award (2019, Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Oklahoma!). A trailblazer for disability representation, she also was the first in a wheelchair to graduate from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
We had them both at our 2026 Reeve Summit.
