Teaching has always been central to Deb’s identity. After stroke, her body and communication changed – but that core part of who she is did not. As we continue to rebuild our lives, we’re continually asking ourselves: How do we honor a lifelong calling in a new body? How do we allow an important identity to evolve without erasing it? Like so much about recovery after stroke, this will be a lifelong learning journey. 💬 For those navigating identity changes after stroke, what parts of your identity feel most important to hold onto? Have you found ways to evolve and adapt to successfully do so? #StrokeOnward #SOCC #StrokeRecovery #RebuildingIdentity #Belonging #SupportMatters
