⬇️Save and share for your next Maui trip. This snorkeling spot offered the most diverse marine life out of the 5 spots we went snorkeling at in Maui. Honolua Bay is a famous marine reserve on Maui’s northwest coast, known for abundant marine life and crystal clear waters.
Many snorkeling tours will take you here by boat, but
@thesnorkelstore gave us a map and taught us that you can get there for free if you park along the Honoapiʻilani Highway and walk a short, scenic trail through a forest to the rocky shoreline. You will see chickens along the path too. It is about a 15 min walk.
There is no sand at this beach, just rocks and some trees. There are no facilities, so be ready to pack out all trash. The bay is a protected area, making it ideal for viewing coral reefs, sea turtles, sharks and more! Have you snorkeled here?
