“After I graduating high school in 1994, I enrolled at Gwinnett Technical College to obtain my EMT certification. I began full-time employment with Barrow County Fire Department in 1997 and went on to earn my Paramedic certification in 1998. I was promoted to Lieutenant in 2004 and to Battalion Chief in 2012, a position I continue to hold today. In this role, I manage day-to-day operations for my shift and supervise 23 personnel. I also serve as the Incident Commander on emergency scenes. I have continued to pursue professional development throughout my career, earning associate degrees in both Fire Science Technology and Emergency Management from Lanier Technical College.
