Happy Birthday, bsaha! This week marks ONE WHOLE YEAR since I launched bsahashop 🎉 …and what a journey it’s been!
When I started bsaha, I wanted to create more than just an online shop. My goal was to bring a taste of familiarity and a sense of nostalgia to the North African community living abroad. Bsaha is meant to celebrate North African foods and make many of these beloved products accessible to all.
I created this brand with my grandmother in mind, who moved to the United States from Tlemcen, Algeria, in the 1940s when North African products were largely inaccessible. I often think of what a pleasure it would have been for her to have even a small taste of home here. While she’s no longer with us, she’s still my inspiration and a driving force behind bsaha.
