Tangier Style Bocadillos with Tuna
Bocadillos originally hail from Spain, but you’ll find versions of this popular sandwich throughout Morocco. While the sandwich requires a bit of chopping during prep- it couldn’t be easier to assemble.
Quantities of each ingredient are dependent on personal preference.
Baguettes or sandwich rolls
Tuna packed in olive oil, drained
Red Onion, finely minced
Cucumber, diced
Tomato, diced
Shredded carrots
Shredded lettuce
Hard Boiled Eggs, chopped
mina Moroccan green olives, chopped
Cornichons, sliced lengthwise
French Fries, store bought or homemade
Harissa Mayo (see below)
Prepare harissa mayo by combining 1/2c of mayo with 1 tablespoon of mina harissa.
Spread a generous amount of harissa mayo onto the bottom portion of the baguette. Top with desired amount of each of the ingredients listed above. Add fries and extra mayo to the top of the sandwich. The sandwich should be packed to the brim. Roll in deli paper, slice in half and enjoy!...
