Meet Prachi Patel, a doctor of pharmacy graduate from Norton, Massachusetts, and this year’s student commencement speaker for the College of Pharmacy.
Prachi chose pharmacy for its blend of science and patient care. After watching her late father manage diabetes, she saw firsthand how meaningful, informed care can shape a patient’s daily life, inspiring her to pursue a path where she could make a difference for others.
At URI, Prachi was actively involved across both her undergraduate and professional years. She participated in URIDanceCompany, PINKWomenURI, and worked as a STEM tutor, later joining organizations like the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, Diversity Representation in Pharmacy, and Phi Lambda Sigma. She also served as a resident assistant for three years.
