Camille N. Johnson: “Whitney and I became the dearest of friends when we were both living in Arequipa, Peru. Doug and I were there serving as mission leaders. Whitney and her husband, James, were there because he was supervising the construction of the Arequipa Temple, and he served in Doug’s mission presidency. Whitney taught me to knit, and we spend endless hours in the mission van talking and knitting on the way to conferences. Our “hearts [were] knit together in unity and in love” (Mosiah 18:21) as we served and laughed and cried together. Whitney is a beautiful example to me of Christlike love and inclusiveness—everyone felt welcome in her home. Her testimony of the eternal nature of relationships has strengthened mine. Whitney and her family are still in Peru as her husband continues to supervise the construction of temples in South America. But thousands of miles can’t keep us apart! We choose to stay connected, because relationships matter—now and for the eternities. #Choose...
