NASA released a simulation showing what happens if someone falls into a black hole. Near the event horizon, gravity bends light, stretches space and slows time compared to distant observers. Falling toward a supermassive black hole could briefly keep a person intact, but extreme tidal forces deeper inside would eventually pull matter apart in a process scientists call spaghettification.
