The Suffolk County Legislature has approved plans for a Muslim cemetery in Bellport with up to 12,000 burial plots. The graveyard on Beaver Dam Road, which would be one of the first on Long Island exclusively for Muslims, requires a vote of the Brookhaven Town Planning Board.
