Rey Fenix has publicly signaled frustration with WWE booking. After WWE announced brother Penta's Intercontinental Championship defense against Ethan Page at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on May 23, Rey Fenix tweeted: "I love my brother, but I will like to have my chance. #AN1M0" Since his WWE debut, Penta has defeated Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and Kofi Kingston before retaining the Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match at WWE WrestleMania 42. Fenix arrived on WWE SmackDown after his AEW exit.
