Interesting the author of this chatgpt copypasta essay "Ghosts" Vauhina Vara is a panelist at #awp26. Not sure she's the best expert since she recently wrote a book with Chatgpt and appears to not be resisting. Full disclosure I am not at the panel but have seen some online posts about this panel which sparked a lot of interest. Her essay 'ghosts' lacked literatry merit, was inane copy and paste, and worst of all hallucinated fake scenarios (about her deceased sister none the less) so I felt betrayed as a reader. I feel like writing is pointless now if this drivel is going to be held up as a shining example. I have submitted to to lit journals for 6+ years reguarly and can't get into higher-tier journals like smokelongquarterly which I've submitted to every 6 months for the past 6 years. It's very unfair because the back of teh essay collection lists many more worthy authors that were nominated but didn't' make the cut. The author can do whatever she wants. I'm more disappointe...
