Feminist studies is being threatened in the US. Feminist science studies is a multidisciplinary body of feminist scholarship on gender and science which arose in the 1960s as part of academic feminism. By the 1970s, scholarship made clear that science was not only hostile to female employees and women within its ranks but had a history of providing ideologically-motivated support to sexist and racist theories.
