I had the honor of hosting a talk with the original Back Talker, the brilliant kimberlecrenshaw at townhall_seattle! Her memoir paints a clear and beautiful picture of how she found her voice and how she became the greatest teacher we ever had on the concept she developed (in part through her lived experience): intersectionality. As a law student, I studied her and admired her from afar. Getting to know her of the last few years has been a dream. She has become one of my favorite conveners and strategists. All heroes don’t wear capes, BUT most are never afraid to push us to greatness. Thank you, Professor Crenshaw! AND thank God for the BACK TALKERS! ✊🏾🫶🏽 (yall see Papa Rye and Mama Rye in the front?!
