Expectations for Laika’s latest movie are sky high, and if the first trailer is any indication, they just might be met. “Wildwood,” the stop-motion-animated movie made by the Portland-based Laika Studios, looks to be the most Portland movie ever made. Based on the fantasy novel by the same name (written by Colin Meloy of The Decemberists), the story is set in a fictionalized version of Portland, name-checking several local landmarks. If the trailer, released Wednesday, is any indication, the movie will up the ante when it comes to Portland shout-outs.
