Beyond Our Control
🔔 Phone rings.
“Hello. Kattegat.”
“Hi Verou… why was tomorrow’s gig cancelled?”
“The venue activated force majeure.”
“But the restaurant is still open.”
“Yes. But open doesn’t always mean operating normally.”
When a venue is running at 7% capacity, reducing staff, and facing a city-wide situation, entertainment can become impossible to continue.
Not because the artist did anything wrong.
Not because the venue doesn’t care.
Not because the agency wants to cancel.
Sometimes the situation is simply bigger than everyone involved.
📴
Here’s the truth:
Not every cancellation is personal.
The artist loses income.
The venue loses business.
The agency loses time, trust, and coordination.
Nobody wins.
