Mya Zavala is this year's recipient of the Leona Kresse Award! She was voted by her class as the senior woman with outstanding character and integrity, service to the community and potential for great achievement. Jewell's Student Senate president will work as a medical assistant at Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic while preparing for medical school. She's especially interested in a career that will allow her to build meaningful relationships with patients and advocate for underserved communities. Her undergraduate research on milk-derived extracellular vesicles as natural nanocarriers for curcumin delivery in cancer cells received the John C.
