A Prescott man is accused of faking his own kidnapping in an attempt to get money from his employer to cover gambling debt 😳🎰 According to Yavapai County authorities, 33-year-old Mark Michael Ellis allegedly sent texts claiming he had been kidnapped and needed more than $17,000 wired to him. Investigators say Ellis later admitted the story was fabricated after losing over $15,000 gambling. Detectives reportedly found him at home with his girlfriend, who authorities say had no knowledge of the alleged kidnapping claims.
