Phoenix Fire crews rescued 3 different hikers off Camelback Mountain over Mother’s Day weekend as dangerous heat moved back into the Valley Officials say the rescues happened near the Echo Canyon area after hikers began struggling in the extreme temperatures. One hiker had to be airlifted off the mountain while others were assisted down by rescue crews. The City of Phoenix is reminding people that several hiking trails automatically close from 8AM to 5PM during Extreme Heat Warnings, including Camelback Mountain and parts of Piestewa Peak. Every summer Arizona somehow still has people finding out the hard way that hiking in the middle of the day is not the move Via Phoenix Fire Department & City of Phoenix #Arizona #Phoenix #CamelbackMountain #Hiking #Heat
