If your flight falls under UK or EU passenger rights rules, here’s what to know if your flight gets cancelled ✈️ Unfortunately, for a range of reasons, we are seeing more flight cancellations at the moment, but knowing your rights can make things a lot less stressful. If your flight is cancelled, you’re usually entitled to either a full refund or an alternative flight to your destination. And if you’re stuck waiting for that replacement flight like Tom Hanks in The Terminal, your airline has a duty of care - including things like food, drinks, hotel accommodation and transport to and from the hotel. If your flight was cancelled less than 14 days before departure, you could also be entitled to compensation of up to £520 per passenger, depending on the route and circumstances. However, airlines don’t have to pay compensation if the cancellation was caused by “extraordinary circumstances” outside their control, like severe weather, air traffic control disruption or some strike action...
