It’s a funny time to be a comedian, says marcellohdz about the state of his industry: “I think now the difference is the stand-up comedian versus influencer culture. It’s like, are you doing 100 sets a week, or are you making 100 videos a week?” “I don’t know,” he concedes. “I think ultimately it’s all going to evolve. I’m probably old-school.” So far, old-school has been working out just fine for Hernández, who, in addition to his role on nbcsnl and his comedy special, ‘American Boy,’ is now promoting 72 Hours, a movie in which he stars alongside Kevin Hart that hits netflix this July.
