May 13th is National Apple Pie Day, a day dedicated to one of America’s favorite desserts. However, in the print shop at the Sacramento History Museum, we do not have a letterpress cut specifically of an apple pie but we do have the components of one! For today, Howard letterpress printed a small electrotype of an apple from the Bill Gaylord Collection and also a small photo engraving which includes a pie. Between the two cuts is the “plus” symbol. Does 🍎 + 🥧 work?
