Advocacy and civil rights groups have the Constitutional right to operate within the measures of the law, and their supporters are allowed to freely fund those operations. It’s freedom of speech. It’s freedom of assembly. It’s the right to petition. But the Trump administration is doing everything within its power to obstruct those rights. Intimidating financial institutions to choke out the financial lifeline of the splcenter, while simultaneously allowing them to fund the machinery that is dismantling our democracy, they are sending us and you – the American people – a clear message: submit to our authoritarian agenda or we will come after you.
