For today’s #Artist365 feature, Studio 351 is home to Barbara Fletcher, Barbara Fletcher’s prize winning sculpture began 30 years ago when she created fabric sculpture for the house of horror writer Stephen King. After working in fabric she chose paper casting for her medium by creating molds from clay sculpture. Pressing handmade paper into the molds she created masks and other objects of whimsy. For the past ten years her evolving mixed media sculptures use clay, foam, wire, metal and found objects. The work has grown from both small wall mounted and pedestal pieces to lager temporary and permanent outdoor sculpture. Her most recent large sculpture Goldberg Variations was exhibited on the grounds of the Norman Rockwell Museum last year.
