Her Legacy | Episode 28 A pioneer whose vision helped build the foundation of women’s golf in Colorado. In 1916, Ella McLaughlin co-founded the Colorado Women’s Golf Association, helping establish one of the country’s earliest and most influential women’s golf organizations. She didn’t just help build the association — she dominated its earliest competitions, winning the first two CWGA Match Play Championships in 1916 and 1917, and adding another title in 1921. Alongside her husband, Hall of Famer M.A. “Mac” McLaughlin, she also helped found Lakewood Country Club, then known as the Colorado Golf Club. More than a century later, the organization she helped create continues to grow the game for women across the state. Her Legacy lives on. #HerLegacy #ColoradoGolfHallOfFame #YearOfWomen #CGA
