After serving as SM East principal for the past five years, Jason Peres is moving to the Center for Academic Achievement to serve as the Shawnee Mission School District’s Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. After the school board approved his position, Peres announced his job change via an email to students, staff and parents on Tuesday, May 11. The current director, Dr. Darren Dennis, resigned from the position after accepting a superintendent position in the Birmingham School District. Peres will take over Dennis’ role with a more high-school-led view on learning and instruction.  “I’m very passionate about teaching and learning, and curriculum and instruction is the root of teaching and learning,” Peres said. “When this position opened up, I saw it as a good fit for me and decided to throw my name in the hat.” To read more, click the link in bio. #storybybridgetdean
