July 29, 2021 -- Acute Care Site Access The Doula Association of Alberta (DAA) is pleased to observe the reinstatement of a two Designated Support People (2DSP) policy in most Maternity and Postpartum Acute Care centres across Alberta, effective since Monday, July 5, 2021. 🌿 Of 42 birth sites across the province, 38 sites (90%) are confirmed as admitting doulas as a second Designated Support person. 🌿 Three sites (7%) are status undetermined or changing day-to-day. 🌿 Only one site is completely rejecting a second Designated Support Person at this time in Labor & Delivery (but allowing in Postpartum).
