One of the largest and oldest model railroading layouts in the country is in Portland, and on select occasions they open their doors to the public. columbia_gorge_model_railroad historical society first organized in October of 1947. The current room layout is 60’ x 70’ and is designed to represent the Columbia Gorge from Portland to Wishram. The layout features franzbakery (spinning loaf of bread included), Union Station, Broadway & Steel Bridges, Multnomah Falls, and more. This might one of the coolest spots in Portland.
