Today, we are crowning world-renowned pianist Yuja Wang as our #QueenoftheWeek 👑 Wang was born in Beijing, China, to a very musical family. Her father is a percussionist, and her mother is a dancer, so she was exposed to the arts at a young age. She expressed interest in the piano early on, often playing around and pressing the keys of her old family piano as a child. Wang eventually began learning to play the piano when she was six years old. The next year, she began studying at Beijing’s Central Conservatory of Music and later entered the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. By the time she was 21, Wang was already an internationally recognized concert pianist and had signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon.
