I believe this portrait illustration of #drmartinlutherkingjr was my first digital painting using #procreate. I remember thinking how intuitive the brushes felt and close to real life painting. Years ago my work was much more colorful and fluid like this. Maintaining the look of my work across mediums was awkward at first, since I was used to mixing my colo rather than picking it from a drop window. I’ve found my way of working now, of course. I still dip into that earlier fountain of expression, but find my new direction interesting in a different way that scratches a current path of inspiration which keeps evolving as it should.
