It's simple. Take away all the art they are scraping the internet to sample from (I use that, since the similarities to music sampling are there) and they have nothing. The programs are built on our real artist's backs. Type in an artist's name and a subject matter and you get something as if it were painted by their hand has wide-ranging implications from stealing their careers to creating NSFW work as if they painted it or even take spaces in coveted comic convention artist alley spaces.
