Senior year of college, I had a cover class with one of my favorite illustrators, jonfosterstudios and he gave One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest for an assignment. It was the first thing I did well on all semester, and all these years later I wanted to revisit the book/film to see what I’d do now. There’s much to look at in this one, narratively. I was homaging some of my favorite artists from that time in this like Jon, Sargent and Tiepolo. I used to go to the risdmuseum often as an undergrad and study the Tiepolo fresco and Sargent paintings we had. If I wasn’t there I was studying painting books in the library or painting at home.
