I’ve talked before about the gift of knowing when something is your last. I really do think it’s what’s helped me survive this fourth trimester. Because even in the sleep deprivation, the middle-of-the-night feeds, the diaper blowouts, and the endless cycle of caring for tiny humans, I know this season isn’t forever. More than that, I know it’s the last time I’ll experience any of my babies at this age. And yet somehow, that knowledge makes me softer in it all. But what I wasn’t prepared for were the tiny endings. Like them outgrowing their newborn clothes. Because for the first time since becoming a mom, there’s no reason to hold onto them anymore. No “maybe someday.” No future baby waiting for them. Just little outfits that suddenly need new homes. And wow, that realization hit me harder than I expected. #fourthtrimester #postpartum #lastbaby #mymotherhood
