Some people inherit jewelry. I inherit recipes. Cooking has always been one of the deepest parts of who I am. I grew up thinking my mom was secretly a chef because every meal felt like magic. And being part of a big Jewish family meant food was never just food — it was connection, tradition, storytelling, celebration, comfort. It was love. So much of the way I mother now is rooted in that same feeling. From gathering and feeding people to making my home feel warm and alive, cooking fuels and feeds my soul. So as you might imagine, getting to attend an adeenasussman and sivanskitchen event during Jewish Heritage Month feels incredibly special.
