Santa Clarita Deputies and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife are fully aware of the situation and are actively monitoring the bear’s movements. For the safety of our community and the bear, please follow these guidelines from wildlife officials: • 🛑 Give it space: Do NOT approach, crowd, or try to take selfies with the bear under any circumstances. • 🚶 Walk away slowly: If you see the bear, keep your distance, avoid eye contact, and calmly back away. • 🗑️ Secure attractants: Make sure your garbage cans are locked up, and bring inside any pet food or bird feeders to avoid drawing the bear to your property. • 🐶 Keep pets safe: Keep your dogs on a short leash when walking, or keep your pets indoors until the bear moves on.
