Night Photography with the amarancreators Ray 60c and Mini Fresnel and Peak 75 Battery I’ve been working on improving my use of a Fresnel attachment. Since I rarely shoot in a studio, I haven’t had many chances to practice with larger Fresnel setups. Since the amaran Ray 60c is so portable, I finally got more practice. It has a Bowens mount and can be powered by the compact Peak 75 battery. amaran also has a mini Fresnel attachment that can be packed out which has allowed me to spend more time using this setup out in the field. The Fresnel concentrates the beam, giving me more control over where the light falls. It covered my subject cleanly while producing strong, defined shadows. There’s still plenty of room to experiment and refine my approach, but that’s part of the process.
