An Ebola health emergency has been declared in the Democratic Republic of Congo. What makes this outbreak different?⁣ ⁣ On Sunday, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a health emergency after over 500 cases and at least 131 deaths from Ebola were reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). ⁣ ⁣ The virus, which is spread by direct contact with infected bodily fluids, has plagued the DRC since it was first identified in 1976.
