Through Cornell’s Community Work-Study Program (CWSP), students build meaningful connections across the Ithaca community while gaining hands-on experience in the fields they care about most. At Ithaca’s Kitchen Theatre Company, student workers help bring bold and thought-provoking performances to life, both on stage and behind the scenes. 🎭
For Katie Kim ’28, the experience became more than just a job. The economics and performing and media arts double major found a way to stay connected to theater after coming to Cornell, supporting the Kitchen Theatre through front desk operations, ticketing systems, office work and now even stepping onto the stage in her first acting role.
With a small staff and limited budget, the Kitchen depends on student support to keep daily operations running smoothly. Through CWSP, students like Kim help strengthen the theater’s connection to the Ithaca community while bringing fresh ideas and perspectives into the space.
