Mumbai is getting hotter. Floods are getting worse. Air quality is collapsing. And yet… We are planning to cut down 45,000 mangroves. The same mangroves that: • protect us from flooding • cool the city • absorb carbon • support biodiversity • and act as Mumbai’s natural defense system This isn’t just an environmental issue anymore. It’s about: 👉 what kind of city we want to live in 👉 who development is really for 👉 and whether convenience today is worth disaster tomorrow What moved me most wasn’t the statistics. It was ordinary citizens taking people on nature walks through mangrove forests… so people could actually SEE what’s at stake. Because people rarely protect what they’ve never experienced. Mumbai was never just concrete. It was islands, wetlands, marshes, mangroves. And maybe the future belongs to cities that learn to work WITH nature instead of against it.
