When the need arises, military aircraft are converted into firefighting air tankers by installing a removable tank or Modular Airborne Firefighting Systems (MAFFS). The collaboration is seamless thanks to training that brings CAL FIRE together with our military partners. Late last month, calfire_aeu ’s McClellan Airtanker Base hosted a weeklong training.
